Biography.
André is the first Portuguese comedian to perform in a fully billed stand-up show at the Edinburgh festival as well as the first Portuguese act to perform in a number of clubs and venues around the UK. He currently counts on the support and backing of the Portuguese government through the London embassy.
He started his path in the performing arts at the age of 15 when he first got accepted into the Escola Profissional de Teatro de Cascais (Professional Drama School) in the greater Lisbon area. Having finished his stint at the school, he decided to try stand up which led to some success in the local comedy scene – which took André to some TV work and a secondary role in the feature film Sete Pecados Rurais.
Deciding that he wanted some new challenges he moved to London in 2016 – via the USA where he had a chance to perform in several locations.
having Just finished his first international tour which took him to France, Monaco, Portugal, Scotland and around the UK he continues to perform in comedy clubs and theatres around the UK and Europe.
André has supported Rui Sinel de Cordes on his sold-out tour around Portugal, opened for Ed Byrne in London and opened for US comic Tom Rhodes.
