James Campbell is a comedian, storyteller & children’s author.
His work has taken him to theatres and festivals around the world with runs on Broadway, London’s West End (three runs) and the Royal Albert Hall. He has performed at festivals all over the country including Imagine Festival, Glastonbury, Latitude, Just So, Edinburgh Fringe, The Hay Festival, Cheltenham Festival and many more.
He has performed his stand up for kids comedy shows at venues all across the UK, regularly performing 70+ shows a year. His latest show The Funny Life Of James Campbell will tour in 2021 (Covid/social distancing allowing). He leads creative writing classes for primary school children both online and in actual school buildings. Since 2000 James has visited over 2500 schools.
His hugely successful Boyface series of books are published by Hodder. The Boyface play will be launched at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2021.
He latest book The Funny Life Of Football will be published by Bloomsbury in 2021, other titles in the series are The Funny Life Of Pets, The Funny Life Of Teachers and The Funny Life Of Sharks.
James lives in Suffolk with his family and a dog called Mrs Miggins. He has an ongoing interest in sustainability and perma-culture and is doing his best to live a self-sufficient life. He is developing a television series with Briony May Williams (The Great British Bake Off) wherein he and his daughter grow produce which Briony and her daughter then cook.
In his spare time he runs the occassional ultra marathon.
