Biography
Max Roddy is a Derry-born comedian on a meteoric rise in the UK and Irish comedy scene. In just 17 months, he has gone from newcomer to headline act, selling out two solo shows in Ireland and becoming the first Derry-born male comedian to headline Hot Water Comedy Club in Liverpool. Known for his sharp observational humour, irreverent storytelling, and high-energy stage presence, Max’s comedy has captured audiences both live and online.
His online clips have amassed over 40 million views, and his early work — including a BBC Radio 1 collaboration in 2013 and the viral sketch “Max Roddy PT” in 2018 — showcased his comedic talent years before he fully committed to the stage. Remarkably, Max only had his fourth live gig in 2024, yet he has already achieved major milestones, proving his rapid ascent in comedy.
After getting sober in 2023, Max fully committed to writing and performing, producing two new hours of material in under two years. His first UK & Ireland mini-tour for 2026 is already confirmed with dates at London’s Top Secret Comedy Club, Liverpool, Glasgow Comedy Festival (two headline gigs), and Letterkenny, with additional dates pending in Cork, Dublin, Armagh, Galway, Strabane, Brighton, and Derry.
Max is building a reputation for blending theatrical skill with relatable humour, attracting both audiences and industry attention, including TV talent scouting his performances. With his momentum continuing to accelerate, Max Roddy is a comedian to watch, bringing fresh, high-energy comedy to stages across the UK and Ireland.
