Biography
Special P began his comedy career writing material for other comedians. However, he had such a natural talent and special ability to make people laugh that it was suggested to him that he use his charm and wit and get up on stage and perform the material himself. Since stepping on stage for his first stand up gig, he hasn’t looked back!
Within the first 2 years of his career Special P appeared on Channel 4’s ‘So You Think You’re Funny?’, was a finalist in the Wilkinson Sword ‘Cutting Edge of Comedy’ competition, and was awarded the BECA award for ‘Best Newcomer’.
Special P continually writes and performs all his own material, drawing on his own real life experiences. He is constantly pushing the comedy boundaries and in 2004 he was awarded the BECA award for ‘Most Original Material’.
Special P is a regular performer in all the premier comedy venues in the UK, and is now also a recognised International comedian, being highly sort after abroad. He toured Germany in 2006 and since then has toured Holland, Sweden, China and the USA. He is a regular act of choice for the US Army and the RAF. He frequents Hollywood, Washington and New York, performing in the more established venues such as The Laugh Factory, The Improv, The Comedy Store, and other mainstream and alternative clubs.
In 2009 he took a show to the Edinburgh Fringe festival and whilst there he hosted for the world renowned Hollywood Outlaws performing at The Gilded Balloon.
Now, alongside performing in various comedy venues around the globe, Special P is starting to tour his own one man show – ‘You Aint Heard Nothing Yet’. After a very successful sell out first show in London the show will now be touring the country throughout 2011-12.
Special P is known for his observational humour and uses unique expressions and body language from the offset to engage and captivate his audience. He has a cheeky wit and charm with the ladies and gives the guys side ripping lines to take home, hence the name ‘Naughty but Nice’. It is very rare to find a comedian with such adaptability to cover a wide range of material. He covers subjects from relationships to politics and social behaviour both home and abroad.
