Biography
Maddy Anholt is a comedy actress and scriptwriter. She trained at ALRA alongside the likes of Miranda Hart and Bridget Christie. The daughter of children’s authors and illustrators, Catherine and Laurence Anholt, twin to painter Tom Anholt and with an older sister at the UN.
She has a mixed Dutch, Irish and Persian heritage. Some say this is why she wears clogs whilst dancing with a leprechaun and smoking a hubbly-bubbly.
Maddy performed her self-penned, one-woman comedy Diary of a Dating Addict at the Gilded Balloon at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, 2015 and at the Soho Theatre, where she had a full sell-out run.
In 2016 she took her new comedy, Rent Girl to the Edinburgh Fringe. Directed and co-written by Hardeep Singh Kohli.
She is currently working on a pilot with Warner Bros., on a new comedy pilot for BBC Radio 4 and appeared in BBC Three’s Sunny D.
She has performed with BBC Radio Comedy, BBC at the Fringe, The Pleasance, The Gilded Balloon, Leicester Square Theatre, is a regular comedy guest on TalkSPORT and Fubar Radio. She has been featured in The Guardian, The Telegraph, Daily Mail, Daily Star, The Metro, OK Magazine, on Channel 5, London Live and on BBC Three
